CURE CMD
Rebranding | Style Guide
Over many years working across various industries, I’v found that working with nonprofits excites me the most. In my experience, a vast majority of the good folks working in this space tend to share as much passion and enthusiasm for the work as the founding members. This is even more true in the patient advocacy space, as a vast majority of team members are either affected by the disease itself or are themselves the parents or legal guardians of someone who is affected. This not only raises the stakes for every project, but it also comes with a willful determination to elevate the work and capture an emotional narrative.
Cure CMD, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing research and support for those affected by Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. Together we recognized the need for the organization to better connect with their community of affected individuals and carve out a distinctive position that resonates with current and potential donors in the highly competitive field of patient advocacy groups.
In 2021, the organization came to me to help them rebrand. They’re primary goals were to have a more adaptable, flexible logo that felt modern while honoring their past, and appealed to their donors. In addition, a short comprehensive style guide was needed that both internal stakeholders and independent contractors could use to maintain the brand voice and consistent visual language.

Cure CMD Style Guide
A short, comprehensive style-guide was crucial to the organization to help align the vision for the brand and educate the communications team on how to potray the brand across channels. Along with the style guide, Photoshop templates were supplied for social posts that included action scripts specifically tailored for the brand and easy to use.
